High Pointe Golf Club is a purpose driven community. In our earliest days, we established the High Pointe FORE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) based in Williamsburg, Michigan, which is supported by our members and friends. The High Pointe FORE Foundation is dedicated to leveraging the great game of golf to create opportunities and improve lives of young people and veterans by funding scholarships and programs.

FORE is a widely known golf term but it has a special meaning to us. FORE stands for “Friends of Rod and Eileen” honoring the memory of our Chairman & Founder’s parents who passed in May 2019, twenty-three days apart.  As he often says, “if you like me, it’s because of them.”

Their legacy is now woven into the fabric of High Pointe. Through the High Pointe FORE Foundation, our members and friends honor that legacy by harnessing the power of the great game of golf to CREATE OPPORTUNITIES and CHANGE LIVES. That is what it means to give back. That is the purpose of FORE.

Our Mission: The High Pointe FORE Foundation is a charitable organization supported by the members and friends of High Pointe Golf Club, dedicated to leveraging the game of golf to create opportunity and positively impact the lives of young people and veterans through scholarships and impactful programs.

The Muller Scholarships:  Annual scholarships have been established in honor of the late Fred M. Muller, PGA, and are awarded to college bound high achieving team members. These recipients are selected based on their impact in their role at our club, their impact on the local community, and their commitment to furthering their education.  The scholarship accrues value based on seasons of service to the club and years of school ahead. Fred Muller, the longtime Crystal Downs pro and “father of Northern Michigan golf” gave back to the game in a way that we can all look up to.

The Lewis Scholarship: An annual scholarship will be established in honor of the late Brian Lewis.  A longtime publishing partner to our architect and founding partner Tom Doak, Brian became a Traverse City local. He truly who loved the game and loved sharing the stories that come with a life spent around golf.
